On this page we describe how to subscribe to the various GEOS-Chem email lists.

Overview

We use several email lists to share information among the GEOS-Chem user community. There is a "general" GEOS-Chem email list, plus an email list for each GEOS-Chem Working Group.

In August 2015, the GEOS-Chem email lists were migrated from the Mailman engine to Google Groups. You can see the complete list of all GEOS-Chem email lists at this link: https://groups.google.com/a/g.harvard.edu/forum/#!forumsearch/geos-chem

GEOS-Chem email list name Send messages to this address Intended audience
GEOS-Chem geos-chem [at] g.harvard.edu All GEOS-Chem users and developers
NOTE: This is the "general" email list to which information
about new model versions, bugs & fixes, etc. will be sent
GEOS-Chem Adjoint and Data Assimilation geos-chem-adjoint [at] g.harvard.edu Adjoint Working Group and Data Assimilation Working Group
GEOS-Chem Aerosols geos-chem-aerosols [at] g.harvard.edu Aerosols Working Group
GEOS-Chem Carbon geos-chem-carbon [at] g.harvard.edu Carbon Cycle Working Group
GEOS-Chem Chemistry-Climate geos-chem-climate [at] g.harvard.edu Chemistry-Climate Working Group
GEOS-Chem Hg and POPs geos-chem-hg-pop [at] g.harvard.edu Hg and POPs Working Group
GEOS-Chem High-Performance Computing geos-chem-hp [at] g.harvard.edu GEOS-Chem High Performance Working Group
GEOS-Chem Nested Model geos-chem-regional [at] g.harvard.edu Nested Model Working Group
GEOS-Chem Nested Model geos-chem-organics [at] g.harvard.edu Organics Working Group
GEOS-Chem Oxidants geos-chem-oxidants [at] g.harvard.edu Oxidants and Chemistry Working Group
GEOS-Chem Sources and Surface Uptake geos-chem-emissions [at] g.harvard.edu Sources and Surface Uptake Working Group
GEOS-Chem Transport geos-chem-transport [at] g.harvard.edu Transport Working Group

We invite you to join the Working Group that is most appropriate to your research, and to subscribe to the relevant email list. Consider joining more than one Working Group (and email list) if your research spans several topics.

Subscribing and unsubscribing

To subscribe to any of the GEOS-Chem lists, please send an email to:

LISTNAME-join@seas.harvard.edu

To unsubscribe from any of the GEOS-Chem lists, send an email to:

LISTNAME-leave@seas.harvard.edu

where LISTNAME is the name of the intended email list (e.g. geos-chem, geos-chem-adjoint etc.). You can leave the subject and body of the email blank if you wish.

When subscribing (or unsubscribing) to any of these lists, you will receive a confirmation email from the system. To activate your subscription (or un-subscription), please click on the link in the email.

Anti-spam measures

Each subscription request shall be approved by the GEOS-Chem Support Team. Requests from persons who are not recognized GEOS-Chem users shall be discarded.

To prevent spam, the GEOS-Chem email lists will reject mail from unrecognized addresses. When sending an email message to a list, make sure that you send your message from the same email address under which you subscribed to that list. Otherwise your message may not get delivered.

If you are having difficulties sending mail to a list, then please contact the GEOS-Chem Support Team for assistance.
