2008 Phase-1 is done. Now phase-2 is in progress. N/A Simulations include a 1-year spin-up period (2007) and a full 12-month integration (Jan-Dec 2008) which will be used for comparison with long-term monthly-mean surface observations and satellite fields for 2008.
  • Anthropogenic and ship emissions - David Streets global emission dataset for 2008 (STREETS);
  • Biomass burning emissions: FINNv1 (Fire INventory from NCAR, version 1, from Christine Wiedinmyer) daily biomass burning emissions for 2008, based on MODIS fire counts.

  • AOD calculated online based on size, composition, and mixing state resolved particle properties simulated by APM.
  • Aerosol direct radiative forcing with and without anthropogenic emissions calculated with a recently incorporated radiative transfer module.
  • In the process of running the model at 2°x2.5° resolution and the 4°x5° simulations will be updated with 2°x2.5° results.
